Baby's First Christmas!

Time has flown!  We went back for Thanksgiving while I was still on maternity leave so that we could keep some vacation days in our pockets for emergencies or fun trips in the coming new year.  We still got to see lots of family and some of our friends, so it was pretty great. So this year, our little family celebrated our first Christmas together -- here in TX!  It's the first time we haven't gone home to MI to celebrate the holidays.

Christmas away from MI was strange in so many ways, but so so wonderful as well! We celebrated as a new family unit for the very first time.  Even though Graham didn't anticipate Santa's arrival or get giddy about opening presents (I mean, he's 3.5 months old...), he made this Christmas the best one ever.  He is such a smiley baby!  I take photos of his smiling face all of the time.  He has the most adorable little dimple to the left of his grin.  My heart lives right there.

Charlie has been staying at home with G while on his winter break from school, which is so awesome for both of them.  The end of the marching season stretched on for forever (seriously -- the state championship game was the last day of school before winter break), which meant a very busy schedule for daddy and some very late Friday nights.  He gets to recharge and soak up lots of G time before starting the second half of the school year.

Graham has grown so much in the last month.  He had a weight check at 3 months and he had put on a whopping 2 lbs 5 oz in 4 weeks.  I'm so proud of him!  He is starting to "talk" all of the time now.  He gabs with daddy just about every chance he gets!  He is the most smiley first thing in the morning.  I sing him songs while I change his diaper and dress him for the day, while he just smiles and kicks around. We can already tell he is going to be one active dude!  Sleep is hard to come by these days, but I've gotten strangely used to it!  Graham will usually sleep for at least 3 hours right when he goes down at night, but then is up every 1.5-2 hours after that for feedings.  As exhausting as nighttime feedings are (some nights are harder than others), I enjoy the time I have with him in the quiet dark.  It feels a bit like we are in our own little world.

This holiday season, I feel so full.  Full of joy and love.  2015 is going to be one awesome year.  :)
